Disney Cruise to Neverland - 'Cuz we Ain't Never Seein' Land
Disney had a weekend cruise after it got here before it went out on it's first cruise to Mexico. We arrived at about 9:30 A.M., when we arrive they were already checking people in, but not boarding yet.
We were assigned to boarding group 2. We were let on board at around 1:00 P.M. They took our picture (which could later be purchased for an outrageous price), we then went down the ramp to board the ship. Upon boarding, they announced each family. After being announced, we were directed to Parrot Cay for lunch.
As you would expect, there was a lot of great food on the buffet, unfortunately, on this trip we forgot to take pictures of a lot of the food. The Strawberry Mint Soup and the Beef were both great! By the time we were done, our cabin was ready, so we decided to go and drop off our luggage, since it was only a two day trip, we only took carry-ons. This saved us from having to tip porters and allowed us flexibility when we got home to take public transit (cost us about $5.00 to get home, instead of $50.)
For those that are unfamiliar with what a fish is on a Disney Cruise or why it would need extending, here is my brief description:
On a Disney Cruise, the fish refers to what the cast members on a Disney Cruise use to leave messages for various cabins. Now on many online message boards, such as http://www.disboards.com that we frequent, will organize what is called an FE. What basically happens is each person/cabin that has chosen to participate hangs a fish extender (something like the one shown above, people make all sorts of them though) on their fish. Then each person/cabin that is participating goes through and puts a little something in each one. (The exact setup varies according to who is organizing it). These are normally small, simple things, like magnets, pencils, pens, candies, usually cruise themed, but other themes are fine as well.
After getting settled in our room and putting up the Fish Extender, we decided to get dressed for dinner and drop off a few of our FEs, since it was a short cruise, unfortunately, this meant that we missed the sail away party. But here are some pictures from when we got up on deck.

After this, we walked around the ship for a bit, then started to head down for dinner and caught a lounge act along the way.
After catching the lounge act, it was time to head in to Parrot's Cay for Dinner. We met our tablemates, who we saw around the ship a couple more times, but never again at meals, one couple went to Palo on the second night and the other we found out fell asleep, but neither couple showed up for breakfast on the last morning. Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures from our first night. After dinner, it was time for Mickey Mania.
As you can tell by the video above, we left a little early in order to make it in time for the Red Carpet Arrivals at the Golden Mickeys. The video was taken before they told us that we could not use video recording devices. For pictures from this show and the show from the next night, please use the link to our Album at the end of this page. I really enjoyed this show the best out of the two that we got to see, but I think that was mostly due to the fact that everyone did their own singing in this show, which they didn't do in Disney Dreams, which was also good, I just thought that this one was better.
After this, we walked around the ship a bit more, then get some pizza, then it was time to head back to the room, when we got there, the bed was turned down, with two sleepy chocolates on the bed for us. Neither of us have been anywhere that does turn down service (especially not for free), so this was a nice treat. Waiting for us was our Navigator with all of the activities for the next day.
When we got up, we went for the buffet at Beach Blanket Buffet for breakfast. This buffet was good, but we realized we missed half of the offerings as we were leaving (we were already full by that point anyway).
After that we headed to Animator's Palette for an Animation class that we did, which was a lot of fun as well.

We then were planning on heading to the Art of Entertaining Class that they were holding, but it turned out that they were talking about how to make Tuna Tartare, since I don't like fish and Eva likes her fish cooked, this was not appealing to us, so we went up and couple of pieces of pizza and some ice cream until we went to get lunch. We then decided to go the gift shop a buy a t-shirt, which also gave us two free bingo cards (we didn't win, but we would have bought the shirt anyway, since we had onboard credit to use). After that, we decided to get lunch at Tritons.
We then went and played our free bingo cards and went back to the room, since there was somewhat of a break in activities and Eva was not feeling very good at the time. While she was sleeping, I went and delivered the rest of our FEs. When she got up, we got dressed for dinner, walked around the ship a bit and caught some of the lounge act again and went to dinner.
After this, it was time to go and see Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer? Sorry, I didn't get any pictures there, then we headed on over for Disney Dreams, then it was time for another Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer? and we would have liked to get up in the hot seat once, but were unsuccessful. I blame this mostly on the extremely rowdy group of kids, who in total got up there three times. After this, we were going to go and watch Tron, but it was fairly full and we were getting extremely tired by this time, so we headed back to the room to pack everything up for the next morning.
We also ordered room service before bed, simply because it was included, so why not?
The next morning, we got up in time to check out, since we didn't put a credit card on file, then went to breakfast, by the time we were done, we were able to disembark, simply because we only had our carry-ons, so we didn't have to wait for our luggage tags to be called.
I do wish that we would have gotten fireworks, have been able to rotate through restaurants and gotten the show at Animator's Palette, but it was only a weekend cruise.

For those wondering why this is called the cruise to Neverland, it is simply because it just went out into the ocean and back, no ports of call or anything else.
